Nothing In This World

You’re lying in your bed,
I see you close your eyes
As I whisper goodnight in your ears.
Taking care I retreat,
To leave you to your dreams,
Know that when you wake I’ll be here.

There’s nothing in this world that I wouldn’t do,
How ever far you travel know I’ll be here for you,
I’ll be your harbour in a storm,
When you get cold I’ll keep you warm,
I’ll be here for you,
When you’re angry I’ll calm you down,
When you’re lonely I’ll be around,
I’ll be here for you, always here for you.

As you open your eyes,
To meet another day,
Do you wonder what you will find?
Something to make you smile,
News that will make you cry,
No one ever knows what tomorrow brings.

There’s nothing in this world that I wouldn’t do,
How ever far you travel know I’ll be here for you,
I’ll be your harbour in a storm,
When you get cold I’ll keep you warm,
I’ll be here for you,
When you’re angry I’ll calm you down,
When you’re lonely I’ll be around,
I’ll be here for you, always here for you.

There’s people in this world,
Who’ll try to bring you down,
Call you friend as they turn against you.
Will you learn to forgive,
Or never once forget,
It’s your choice and it’s down to you.

Then you will fall in love,
In the trees birds will sing,
And nothing will matter anymore.
One day this will come to be,
I hope for you my son,
But for now I slowly close the door.

There’s nothing in this world that I wouldn’t do,
How ever far you travel know I’ll be here for you,
I’ll be your harbour in a storm,
When you get cold I’ll keep you warm,
I’ll be here for you,
When you’re angry I’ll calm you down,
When you’re lonely I’ll be around,
I’ll be here for you, always here for you.

The Other Song (F)

This is the other song I wrote for you,
This time I find I’m going to tell the truth,
I loved you until it hurt me so very much,
I was a fool wanting your loving touch,
And then you MADE YOUR MISTAKE.

O Tom, what did you do?
You had her love but now you’re through.
O Tom it wasn’t right,
How can you sleep at night?

They were words I never thought you’d say?
Goodbye! Memory says it was a rainy day,
Raindrops masking the tears in my eyes,
As you explained to me why,
I hate you FOR WHAT YOU DID!

O Tom, can’t you tell us why?
You had to make this girl cry,
O Tom do you feel fine?
Does the next girl know what you’re like?

I know I called you on your telephone,
Your mother answered you were never home,
Does she know what you did?
How you took all I had to give,
All for you WHAT YOU THREW AWAY!

O Tom see this girl!
She believed all your words,
O Tom when all is said and done,
You’ll be sorry now she’s gone.

These are the words I never thought I’d say,
But believe me I do regret the day,
I was foolish enough to let you into my life,
And I’m glad I sleep alone tonight,

This is the other song I wrote for you,
When love has gone all is left is the truth,
And I was a fool I believed your words,
That now you whisper to another girl,
BUT TELL ME DOES SHE KNOW WHAT YOU ARE LIKE!

O Tom what did you do?
Can I tell her about you?
O Tom can I help her see?
Past your words of make believe?
O Tom, O Tom, O Tom goodbye!
O Tom, O Tom, goodbye!

Just Because

I only write this song to ask a question,
About our love it’s new direction,
We’ve had good times and the bad,
The blazing fights,
And starry nights.
I’ve got another woman you’ve got another man,
It seems romance is out of our hands,
Where are we going can’t you tell,
Somewhere north of heaven or south of hell,
This isn’t how I pictured us,
But I’m holding on just because.

I only called you up to say three words,
You know the ones you’ve often heard,
I love you,
You know it’s true.
You’re the reason why I wake up,
Hoping one day to feel your touch,
Although it seems our love’s taboo,
Even though you love me and I love you,
This isn’t how I pictured us,
But I’m holding on just because.

I’m only waiting because I always will,
It’s been a long time but I’m waiting still,
My life’s desire,
Until the funeral pyre,
You and me living as one.
Your pretty face, your warm caress,
A lover’s touch not sordid sex,
So come on baby let’s make amends,
Let’s return to when we were more than friends,
This isn’t how I pictured us,
But I’m holding on just because . . . I love you.

Bitter Little Pill

I see him sitting in the car,
(looking at us)
I wonder what he’s thinking about,
(looking at us)
Does he really know the truth,
(looking at us)
How we used to scream and shout.
(the two of us)

You’re a drug an addiction,
A bitter little pill,
I can’t live without you,
But you’re making me ill.
You’re a nightmare that I’m loving,
Despite of myself,
I know I’m falling down,
But I can’t get no help.

We’d be monsters and angels,
(when we’re together)
Fighting almost every night,
(when we’re together)
You went and left me alone,
(when we’re together)
But who you think about at night.
(when you’re together)

I heard you say that you loved me,
(I believed you)
But you wanted to take some time,
(I believed you)
One day you’d be coming back,
(I believed you)
But you didn’t reckon on what you’d find.
(I moved on from you)

You’re a drug an addiction,
A bitter little pill,
I can’t live without you,
But you’re making me ill.
You’re a nightmare that I’m loving,
Despite of myself,
I know I’m falling down,
But I can’t get no help.

I wonder what he’d say if he knew,
(would he understand)
How we used to drive in your car,
(would he understand)
But I’ve finally learned to let go,
(do you understand)
It’s been hard for me to get this far.
(do you understand)

Now my life has moved on,
(I still love you)
I got myself a new girlfriend,
(I still love you)
But then you went and called me up,
(I still love you)
When will this ever end?
(Do you love me too)

You’re a drug an addiction,
A bitter little pill,
I can’t live without you,
But you’re making me ill.
You’re a nightmare that I’m loving,
Despite of myself,
I know I’m falling down,
But I can’t get no help.

Still we sit here and talk,
(just the two of us)
We both know what’s going on,
(just the two of us)
Neither is able to let go,
(just the two of us)
We want the screaming and shouting,
Loving you so.

You’re a drug an addiction,
A bitter little pill,
I can’t live without you,
But you’re making me ill.
You’re a nightmare that I’m loving,
Despite of myself,
I know I’m falling down,
But I can’t get no help.

Roger Ramjet

We lie in bed,
And we’re both wide awake,
This nocturnal boredom,
Is more than I can take.
I reach over your body,
For the remote control,
You turn your back to me,
Your body’s gone cold.

I shrug my shoulders,
And turn on the TV set,
Looking for something,
To help me make me forget,
There’s Inspector Gadget,
On channel six o two,
He’s saving the world.
I’m stuck here with you.

I want to fly with Roger Ramjet,
I want to dance with Betty Boo,
I want to laugh with Roger Rabbit,
But I only want to be with you.

I push you in the back,
As you begin to snore,
The noise is getting louder,
I can’t take it anymore.
Just as I’m about to leave,
You open your eyes,
You see Mickey on the TV,
And you sit up and smile.

The cartoons keep coming,
All through the night,
We’re laughing together,
As Tom and Jerry fight.
You kiss me on the cheek,
And say leave on the TV.
You’ve got a thing about,
A rabbit called Bugs Bunny.

I want to fly with Duck Dodgers,
I want to smoke dope with Scooby Doo,
I want to play golf with Captain Caveman,
But I want to be here with you.

Now each night,
As we turn out the lights,
We turn on the television,
And we no longer fight.
I hold you in my arms,
As we laugh at Daffy Duck,
We both don’t like Tweety,
So that’s the time to.

I want to fly with Roger Ramjet,
I want to dance with Betty Boo,
I want to laugh with Roger Rabbit,
But I only want to be with you.

I want to fly with Duck Dodgers,
I want to smoke dope with Scooby Doo,
I want to play golf with Captain Caveman,
But I want to be here with you.

I want to fly with Roger Ramjet,
I want to dance with Betty Boo,
I want to laugh with Roger Rabbit,
But I only want to be with you.
